Our Story

Our parents went on a date—and brought us along.

They got on wonderfully. We had a slightly different start: one very serious face, followed by a smile that changed everything. Before long, we were deep in conversation about whether ours might be the last generation to experience arranged marriage. An unusually big question for a first meeting, perhaps, but it worked for us.

What followed was a few months of long distance and calls almost every morning. We shared the ordinary details of our days, then wandered into bigger questions: What makes us feel loved? What makes us vulnerable? What kind of life do we want to build? We talked about politics, spirituality, and almost everything on this planet—and a few things beyond it.

Somewhere in those conversations, we began to feel close despite the distance. We could speak openly, disagree, be curious, and keep discovering each other. It all felt surprisingly easy.

Then came our reunion in Trondheim and travels through Oslo, Amsterdam, and Vienna. There were places to explore, meals to plan, and trains to catch. Through it all, we discovered how naturally we worked as a team. Being together meant feeling cared for, making room for each other, and finding joy in the everyday details.

We also discovered that we have different definitions of “we need to leave now.” According to one of us, the other was almost certainly a bus conductor in a past life. This remains an ongoing discussion, with a lifetime of teasing ahead.

Our conversations move between Havyaka, Kannada, Hindi, and English, with a little Sanskrit learning along the way. We carry a love of home, festivals, and the traditions we grew up with, alongside a shared appetite for nature, learning, and adventure. We want a life where there is room to ask questions, try unfamiliar things, do some good, and keep our playful sides alive.
