Beaches, cliffs, and cafes along the Gokarna coast.

November through February is the kind season here, and it matches the wedding dates. Between gatherings there is time for a swim, a walk, or a slow meal. Nirvana Beach is the closest stretch to the venues; Om and Kudle are the livelier Gokarna cluster, a short drive north.

Beaches

Six worth a visit

Om Beach — The best-known beach, named for its Om-shaped shoreline. Lively, with kayaks, jet skis, banana boats, cafes, and shacks.
Kudle Beach — Closest to Gokarna town: wide, relaxed, good for sunset and an easy evening.
Half Moon Beach — A smaller crescent, quieter and less built-up. A peaceful break.
Paradise Beach — Offbeat and scenic. Reach it by boat or on foot.
Nirvana Beach — Near Kumta: calm, uncrowded, and closer to the wedding venues than the Gokarna cluster. Good for a quiet sunset swim.
Gokarna Main Beach — The town beach, beside the Mahabaleshwara Temple. Pilgrims and travelers share the sand.

Beyond the sand

Gokarna Cliff — A wide view of the sea, and a popular place to watch the sun go down.
Beach trekking route — Om Beach to Half Moon to Kudle. Walk the whole path, or a section if time is short.
Mirjan Fort — A short trip inland. A good half-day.
Flea markets in Gokarna town — Souvenirs and jewelry.

Where to eat

Om Beach and Kudle Beach cafes — Clustered on both beaches. Mostly seafood, with seats for sunset.
A'ka Restaurant — At Panchabhuta, near Nirvana Beach. Regional, continental, and Pan-Asian food with a sea view. The closest sit-down kitchen to the wedding venues.
